Why Do Some Ceiling Tiles Have Holes?
These are known as perforated tiles and are used to improve acoustic performance and absorb sound waves. You'll see them referred to as “perf” tiles and they help reduce echo and reverberation in busy environments. They also add texture and visual interest.
