We use replacement ceiling tiles to replace our old tiles and brighten up that
dull looking ceiling system.

· Replacement ceiling tiles in Liverpool
These are
just a few popular areas where we sell and distribute ceiling tile replacements. Where ever you are in the country, we have you covered.
How Much Do Replacement Ceiling Tiles Cost?
The cost for your replacement ceiling tiles depends on whether you are matching up to an
existing ceiling tile, or if you are changing the type of tiles you have. Your
current ceiling tiles may just be cheaper ones, or they could be a high spec board
which would of course cost much more to replace. You should also factor in the suspended ceiling instillation cost unless you are replacing them yourself.
The average
box of ceiling tiles costs around £50.00 + vat, and you would receive 16 600mm x 600mm
ceiling tiles for that cost. If you were looking for a higher caliber
ceiling tile such as a Microlook edge
ceiling tiles, your cost on average would jump to around £100.00 + vat per
box of 16 tiles.
Bulk discounts
do apply on replacement tile orders, so that must be considered. You would tend
to receive these discounts on orders that are over 100m2, and you can see significant
price drops for larger products where you have hundreds to thousands of square
meters to cover.
How To Match My Replacement Tiles
When we are performing ceiling tiles replacement, we want to ensure that we either match up to your existing tiles or provide you with a better newer option if applicable. But when matching existing, it can be difficult to identify which tiles you have. The main things you must do to identify your ceiling tiles are: -
- Check for any codes, numbers or brand names on the back of the tile
- Measure the tile and check the thickness
- Check whether the tile has a board edge, tegular edge or microlook edge detail
- Compare the surface pattern to that of our range online
There a few different materials used to make ceiling tiles, so you should check whether you have mineral fibre ceiling tiles, glass wool tiles or gypsum tiles. This will identifying them easier. If the above don’t make it clear which tile you have, then send us some pictures of the front, back and edge of the ceiling tiles, so we can help identify this for you: sales@ceiling-tiles.co.uk.
Can You Replace Ceiling Tiles?
You certainly can, but depending on the system you have in place, would depend on how simple this would be to do.
Standard mineral fibre and rockwool based ceiling tiles should simply lift out of your grid system, allowing you to place a replacement in its place. However, more specialist tiles such as metal concealed system may be more problematic to replace. Suspended ceiling installation isn't always straight forward, but learning how to install ceiling tiles correctly can be hugely beneficial, as it can save on both time and cost.
What Is The Cheapest Way To Replace Ceiling Tiles?
The cheapest way to replace ceiling tiles, is to replace them yourself. This reduces the cost of paying a company labour to do it, however you must be capable of measuring and correctly cutting the replacements to size, otherwise you may cost yourself more in wrongly cut or damaged tiles.
Should I Replace the Ceiling Grid As well?
This would
all depend on the condition of the ceiling grid. If the ceiling grid has deteriorated
over the years, showing signs of damage or weakness, then we would certainly
recommend that you replace the grid also. Many people change the ceiling grid
to ensure that the new white ceiling tiles will look good when in the grid, as
older grids can become more yellow like in colour over time.
You can attempt
to clean the ceiling grid, before putting the new tiles in. We recommend using
sugar soap and repeatedly wiping down each part of the ceiling grid. Not all grids
will look like new once cleaned, as the years of grime build up and can be hard
to shift.
Can I Use Any Replacement Tiles?
When
replacing ceiling tiles, it is important to check the size of tiles that exist
in the system, or measure the internal sizes of the ceiling grid. This is to
ensure that whichever new tiles you choose, will fit in place of your old tiles.
Ceiling tiles come in many sizes, thicknesses and edge details, and grid sizes do
differ, so we must check the sizes before committing to a specific tile.

Water Damaged Ceiling Tiles
One of the
most frequent damages to ceiling tiles is due to water damage from leaks and
condensation. Ceiling tiles don’t like water, as they are made from such
materials as mineral fibre and rockwool, which absorbs water like a sponge. As
a result, your tiles can either start to crumble or appear with water marks on
their surface.
When replacing
water damaged tiles, it is critical to find where the water initially came
from, to repair and prevent it from happening again. You wouldn’t want to be
spending money on new
ceiling tiles, just for them to get damaged shortly after instillation.
Condensation
is usually the hardest issue to fix, as it occurs in voids where hot and cold
air meet. To resolve this, you may need to insulate the void using insulation pads, this should help
regulate the temperature in summer and winter, preventing condensation.
Yellowed Ceiling Tiles
Almost
everybody has walked into a room and found yellow-looking ceiling tiles in
their lifetime. Yellow tiles look ugly and dirty, so replacing these tiles will
help make your room look, smell, and feel better almost instantly. But why do
these tiles become yellow in appearance? This is commonly caused by smoking, or
airborne grease from deep fat friers and such like equipment. The only way to
prevent this from happening Is to have good ventilation and clean the ceiling
tiles routinely.
All of the replacement
ceiling tiles that we sell here In the UK offer a great white appearance, which
enhances any ceiling system, making them clean and fresh.
Do New Ceiling Tiles Help with Energy Bills?
Ceiling
panels can certainly help retain heat in your room and stop excess heat from being
lost above the system and in the void. If your current tiles are old and damaged,
the chances are that are letting heat escape, which in return means you are spending
much more money annually on your energy bills to heat the space. By replacing your
ceiling tiles to newer, stronger and more energy efficient ceiling tiles, you should
see a gained advantage on your heating bills.
Ceiling
tiles are not usually designed to focus on heat loss, but the make up of the
tiles does allow them to retain heat and help keep your room warm. However, if
you are struggling with heat loss, our team will be able to help specify a system
for you that will boost the energy efficiency of your ceiling.
