Ceiling Tiles
Ceiling tiles are a tile usually made out of mineral fibre, glasswool and gypsum, that are installed into a suspended ceiling grid system.
The short answer is yes, ceiling tiles are generally fire rated. But to ensure that you have a fire rated ceiling system, you must ensure that you are using a tile and grid system that have been tested and fire certified in your application.
Ceiling tiles range from around £7m2 up to over £50m2, the cost would be dependent upon the brand, style and technical properties of the tile.
The two most standard sizes of ceiling tiles are the 600mm x 600mm square tiles, and the 1200mm x 600mm rectangular tiles. These are made by all manufacturers, but there are other specialist sizes available on request such as 600mm x 300mm, 900mm x 600mm and many more. However these are usually expensive and made to order.
The most popular and main brands of ceiling tiles are Armstrong, Zentia, Rockfon, Ecophon and Knauf Ceiling Solutions.
